West Clear Creek Backpack Trip

In March of 2006 our troop took a trip to West Clear Creek. It was quite a trip; pretty much everyone enjoyed it…except Matt …but nobody else slept the entire time…anyways, the hike was incredibly short and flat, one of the easiest hikes I've ever been on. The campsite was very well kept, and close to the water, which was very clear, but too cold to swim in for extended periods. We had a lot of fun skipping rocks before it got too cold to be without a campfire or sleeping bag. Besides a lack of things to do, it was a pretty fun trip. | |

After about a mile, we reach the creek - we're almost to the camp site! |

We set up camp and have lunch. |
Matt eats lunch and then retires to his tent to read a book - and we won't see him again until dinnertime! |

Tom checks out the fishing holes - and Tim sticks around to be a witness if fish get caught. |

A few of us hike up the canyon - but the water is too tempting and Lenny decides he'd rather swim than hike. |

Back at camp, the boys are enjoying the creek..

But why waste all these great throwing sticks and a creek full of cold slime?? Let's have a slime war!

The after dinner fashion show - Rich and Tom model their flannel pajamas. Tom sure would be a lot warmer if he had remembered that extra pair of socks! |

 | Okay, guys, it's 10:00 (somewhere) - you can go to bed. |
