Reevis Mountain School Campout

December 2007

Here we all are at Peter Bigfoot's Reevis Mountain School. We love coming out here to learn tips about sustainable living, organic farming, and survival tips from Peter.

Our group on this outing is: Bella, Peter, Gary, Tyler, Garrett, Karl, Debi, Ryan, Dave, Tyler, James, Tom, Lenny, Michael, and Laura.
After we arrive and set up camp, Peter gives us a tour of the farm

In line for the loo?

Ryan checks out the water tank

Max taking a break from his duties as head rodent catcher
Time for lunch - hot soup and grilled cheese sandwiches!
After lunch we help Peter with some projects around the farm - here we piling rocks for his masonry building

We also fill in the area where the barn burned with fresh gravel
Some of the Scouts worked with Bella on cleaning up one of the new cabin sites
Peter teaches us how to make a bow and drill for fire making

That looked easy, we can do that!!

This isn't as easy as it looked when Peter did it!

Dinner time!

Chef Michel oversees the grilled salmon
And Chef Gary makes fruit cobblers for dessert
Lenny and Max become buddies!
After dinner Peter shares a slideshow about his survival trek through the desert in July of 1975
Peter joins us for breakfast in the morning
After breakfast Peter teaches the Scouts how to make chicken soup. The chickens get a hug and some love before they meet the ax.

This is a lot more work than opening a can of Campbell's chicken soup! But worth it!
All ready to cook!
The girls go on a hike in the morning - Debi, Laura, and Bella
And the Scouts burn piles of brush
Thanks to our trip leaders -- Gary and Deb!
