Rainbow Valley Scout Rocket Launch
January 2006

January Rocket Launch by Colin Ruane
Troop 697 had their annual rocket launch. It was a great success, There were contests, prizes, and of course launches. It was fun for all. At this outing we learned how to properly assemble a rocket, and we watched professionals launch their high-powered four-foot-long monster rockets, between engines exploding and rockets soaring, everything was a blast. We also had some new visitors that came and launched with us, hopefully we will get some new members. One of our visitors Jeffery Minnick won the highest rocket contest and won a three-stage-rocket which he has yet to assemble. |
 | Preparing for the launch - hey, this IS rocket science!
| |
 | Spencer’s Screamin’ Meemie | |
 | Four Frogs and their rockets. (Ummm…Marshall? It flies the OTHER way.)
 | Lenny and his Spaceship One replica. |
That’s better, Marshall. | | Rockets are fine for space science, but make poor fake mustaches. |
 | Who wants to launch a rocket? WE DO!
| |
 | | Can you spot the rocket painted in camouflage? No? Neither could the recovery crew.
 |
 | | “Wanna see Mr. Weite run? Hit the launch button!”
 |

Next stop: Mars. Or the hood of Mr. Moreash’s car, whatever’s closer.

Mr. Moreash's little rocket.
