East Clear Creek

September 2003

East Clear Creek, one of our favorite spots and a great place to begin the new Scouting year.
Nick, Deb, Greg, Doreen, Matt, Mike, Augie, Spencer, Bill, Jeff, Rich, Alex, Brandon.

I think we can fit a few more boys and backpacks in this truck!

Bill meets with the boys to go over the weekend's activities and schedule.

Maybe one of the activities should have been helping the Scoutmaster put up his tent..

Matt and Jeff working on their environmental science merit badge.

Augie taking notes for his environmental science merit badge.

And free time to play in the water and in the waterfalls.

Ian and Alex catch us some crawdads for dinner! Who's going to clean these things for us? Mrs. Moreash will!

Boil 'em, clean 'em, season 'em with some Cajun spices, and saute 'em in butter -- a feast!

Nick, Ian and Brandon, what are you up to?

Bill cooks up a feast for the adults!

And for dessert, fresh baked pound cake with raspberries and whipped cream!

and then a campfire to finish off the night.

Let's see if Bill notices that his tent got moved during the night by some mischievous Scouts...

Okay, guys, let's start hiking before Mr. Hoddy wakes up and finds out where he slept last night!

After lunch at the top, we listen to the Scouts read their nature observation notes.
