CCW Crews - Boundary Waters Adventure
June 2008
Camp site 1 - Horse Lake
Our first day we paddle about 5 1/2 miles with 4 portages. We find a nice camp site on an island in Horse Lake.

After all the paddling, I think I'll sit here and read. Tell me when dinner is ready! |
Mike takes on the food sorting job! Where's Mark Perkins when you need him?

Ti m and Ryan come over to visit from the Scout camp site |

I think I'll go catch some fish... |
If Mike catches a fish, I'll eat my bandana
Hey, I'm hungry, is Mr. Mikac done sorting the food so we can eat some of it? |
| We made it through the night. After the storms last night, we may call this Hurricane Lake |
| |
We cook breakfast and get ready for another day of paddling and portaging
| We head up the Horse River, or are we heading down? We head downstream up the Horse River |
Mind that rock, Coby!
Werner's first Northern of the trip
Coby and Werner at Basswood Falls
Want to see my big pike?
(Sorry, Werner, that looks like a pretty small pike to me)

Our second day we paddle 13 miles with 4 portages. We camp just above Basswood Falls on Crooked Lake
Tonight is ham steaks and corn for dinner
Except for Werner, he's eating his pike |
| This is why we come to Boundary Waters! (okay, and for the fish) |
The next day we break camp and paddle up Crooked Lake - no portages today!!!

Petroglyphs on the cliffs along Crooked Lake |
Eh, we're in Canada, boys!
Nathan and Jim

Jeff and Bob on the border |
Can I see your passport, Mr. Mikac?

CCW1 Scouts
| We made it to the Hilton! |
Mike's Walleye - better save that in case we have company for dinner |
| It looks like the CW crews made it! |
Sorry we're late, eh, we decided to detour through Canada for a few hours!
Dinner tastes great after a long day for the CW groups
