Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness
June 2008
Boundary Waters 2008 - Troops 697, 75, and 172
On June 10, we took off from Sky Harbor Airport (115 degrees of dry heat) and headed up to Ely, Minnesota (50 degrees and raining) for ten days of canoeing, fishing, and fun! Our group of 28 Scouts and Leaders divided up into four crews:

- CCW1: Mike Mikac, Werner Bruckner, Coby Bruckner, Ryan Sands, Chad Moritz, Tim Bonamo, Nick Basinger, Thomas Gibson
- CCW2: Bob Meiers, Jim Cordiak, Alex McCarthy, Nathan Cordiak, and Matthew Meiers
- CW1: Richard Vullo, Mark Kittredge, Ian Casper, Spencer Kittredge, Jeff Meiers, August Vullo, and Brandon Gurtler
- CW2: Tom Kiefer, Tim McCormick, Deb Moreash, Nico Kittredge, Connor McCormick, Ryan Kiefer, and Kevin Haycraft

We loaded up our gear and ourselves into our luxury coach transport...

 | Next we head off for adventures in Ely - first a visit to the Dorothy Molter Root Beer Museum

And then a visit to the Ely Wolf Center

And the winners of the wolf trivia contest are: Coby, Debi, and Ryan!! Ask Ryan how many moose ticks were found on one moose.

Our route - the CW groups will go clockwise around the loop and the CCW groups will go (guess) counterclockwise around the loop. Our plan is to all meet up for a night in Thursday Bay at the Hilton!
