Austin's Eagle Project

November 2003

Austin worked with Dick Mickle of the City of Tempe to plan his Eagle project. He closed a trail and revegetated the area to prevent traffic and let the desert in this area of Papago Park return to its natural state.
Austin has already collected donations of cacti and other plants that will be planted in the revegetation area. He divides all of the volunteers into groups and assigns tasks, some will be planting, some will be breaking up rock to remove the trail, others will be placing rocks around the new trail.

Dillon works with the pick to dig holes for the new plants.

Luke carries plants to areas to be planted.

Mr. Gaylord gets the difficult job of watering the newly planted cacti!
Steven loves these gripper tools! But they're for picking up cactus, not pinching the other Scouts!

Cody breaks up the foot path.
Hey, Forrest, be careful with that or you'll put your eye out!

Some after pictures, it looks great!
We hope people will pay attention to this sign.
